EYEBROW WAX TREATMENT
Please ensure you are well hydrated the day before and the day of your treatment.
This will reduce discomfort during your treatment. You may find pain relief tablets 20 minutes prior to treatment and anti-histamines for a couple of days before your treatment will reduce discomfort and minimise any reactions.
We ask that you refrain from swimming, sunbathing and use of sunbeds, steam rooms and saunas for 24 hours before and after any hair removal treatment.
Please avoid applying any products to the area including moisturiser, creams, or oils.
All clients are required to complete a skin analysis consultation card.
This will help your therapist investigate your skin concerns and ensure suitability for treatment.
STEP 1 - CONSULTATION
Your therapist will assess your skin to ensure suitability for the treatment. There are some conditions that are not suitable for waxing treatments
- Clients taking Roaccutane or applying steroid creams (less than 6 months)
- Contagious skin conditions
- Hemorrhage or bruising on the skin
- Recent scar tissue (less than 6 months)
- Diabetes
- Sunburnt or chafed skin
- Folliculitis (follicle infection)
- Defective circulation
The following may restrict your treatment
- Warts
- Hairy moles
- Cuts
- Abrasions
- Heat rash
- Allergies
STEP 2 - PRE-WAX SKIN STERILISATION
Your pores will be opened during the treatment. Surgical spirit is applied to the area to remove impurities and reduce risk of follicle infection.
STEP 3 - WAXING HAIR REMOVAL
We aim for you to retain your slugs, we just ensure they are tidy and presentable slugs!
Your brows are brushed, all excess hair above the brow line is removed with scissors. Working in small sections, warm wax is applied with a roller head cartridge in the same direction as hair growth. A specifically designed paper strip is then applied directly onto the wax, your skin is stretched to minimise discomfort, the strip is swiftly removed in the opposite direction of hair growth. The therapist may place her hand on the newly waxed area to ease pain and discomfort. Your therapist will assess your response to the treatment and adjust timings between applying wax to ensure a more suitable recovery period. To complete your treatment any remaining random hairs are removed with tweezers.
STEP 4 - AFTER-WAX
Cooling tea-tree and chamomile lotion is applied to the area, this will help to remove any residual wax, guard against infection and soothe the newly waxed area.
Your therapist will take you through your aftercare.
