How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on your skin concerns.
A typical course would consist of 3 treatments 4 - 6 weeks apart.
More treatments may be required for scarring and stuban pigmentation.
What to expect during your treatment
You will be required to complete and sign your initial
Dermapen consultation form on each visit to confirm any changes and any new medication you may be taking.
Topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area and make the procedure more comfortable.
This normally takes effect in around twenty minutes.
A cold gel packed with nutrients is applied to all areas.
The treatment will last for about thirty minutes.
What to expect after your treatment.
Immediately after treatment you will look as though you have moderate sunburn, your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual.
This will normally recover the same day with only a slight redness the following day.
Your skin may feel lightly sunburned for a couple of days after treatments.
We ask that you refrain from physical activities, swimming, steam rooms and saunas for 48 hours after treatment.
Please avoid any sun exposure for the duration of your course.
You must wear SPF50 on all areas treated that may be exposed to daylight to prevent any further side effects.
You can cool the skin using cold compresses and lenitive moisturisers.
Your body will naturally regenerate and repair producing collagen, this will take time, you should start to see positive results 4 - 6 weeks after your first treatment, providing a gradual and long lasting result.
We recommend periodic visits to assess your skin.
